In Memory of Tim Milleville

Timothy Andrew Milleville, 54, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday May 29, after a yearlong battle with T-cell Lymphoma. Tim lived in Portland, CT on their family farm with his sons Matthew K. and Mark P. along with his wife of 28 years Lynnette (Rau) Milleville.

Tim graduated Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1979. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford, CT for over 30 years.

Tim was ordained in 1999 and started River Bend Christian Fellowship, Cromwell. He also assisted in the development of other ministries at various churches across Connecticut.

Tim enjoyed training and competing with his Border Collies in herding competitions and playing guitar. He also loved to learn about battlefield strategies and the history channel was his favorite pastime.

Anyone who met Tim was drawn by his genuinely kind spirit. He was always willing to help others above his own interests. The way that he lived his life was an inspiration to many. He was a loyal, honest, determined and supportive and hard working individual. He definitely left a mark on this world as he moved onto the next. You would be hard pressed to find anything negative to say about him, except that he worked too hard.

His enthusiasm influenced many people across the world. He regularly traveled to Singapore and India, spreading his wisdom and experience. The many patents that he holds through Pratt and Whitney are a testament to his intelligence.

His sense of humor was enough to brighten the gloomiest of days. His brand of witty and clean humor always brought others smiles, be it because it was really clever or that is was just silly. The atmosphere he brought wherever he went was that of encouragement and lighthearted fun.

His parents Bertram and Eleanor Milleville of Pittsburg, PA and sister Kristy Milleville predeceased Tim. He is survived by his two brothers Dan P. Milleville and wife Darlene of Ayer, MA, John E. Milleville of Milvale, PA and a sister Ginger Swickrath and husband Tom of Gibsonia, PA.

The celebration of Tim's life will take place at 2:00PM on July 2, 2011 at the Living Rock Church, 138 Route 81, Killingworth, CT. Tim's desire is that his memorial be a fun time so we will have a picnic after the service. The church has a pavilion, basketball courts, horseshoes and an area that younger kids can play in a protected environment. Other games and entertainment will be provided. Bring a change of clothing, blankets, chairs and a dish to share.

I met Tim the first time I went to the "old" Portland farm about 20 years ago for a herding seminar with Lynnette. He was just as welcoming to all of us then as he continued to be each time I went for a herding lesson 20 years later. It can't have been easy to have visitors constantly wandering around his home and property, leaving gates open, asking for help with stubborn goats, etc, but Tim handled it with humor and grace, which I always so admired. His sons have continued the tradition!

Lynnette, Matthew, and Mark,
My earliest memories of Tim date back to Young Life camp on Saranac Lake in 1973. Thinking back about Tim, what strikes me is what a strong, committed Christan he was from that time forward--a real man of God whose desire to serve God was central to his life. He had a great sense of fun and found a lot of joy in life. I will always cherish our friendship and the good times we had. I pray that you will find comfort and peace in knowing that Tim is with his Lord, who he loved so much. God bless you always.

Dear Lynnette, Matthew and Mark, I was a friend of Tim's during our highschool years at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church. Even then, he was a man with a strong faith in God and quite a sense of humor! Tim got me started with my guitar, long ago! My prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
May God's peace be yours,
Patty Snyder

Lynette, Matt, and Mark, I so hoped things would be different for Tim and he would have a good life but it wasn't meant to be. I will truly miss him. I will always remember him and the fun we had growing up together. He was very proud of his son's and his wife. If there is anything I can do for any of you Please don't hesitate to call. I won't say goodbye only so long until we meet again. Love Ginger

Please accept our deepest heartfelt sympathies. Not knowing Tim personally or the Milleville family at Nutmeg Farm, but having the unfortunate timing of calling for lessons and happening upon the news of your loss. Our prayers of hope in God's promise to you and your family.

~Sincerely, Wayne & Patty Gleason (& Bear)

Tim,

You will truly be missed. You and Lynette were the ones who encouraged me, and gave me great opportunities to pursue my desire to play the drums and use my musical abilities to serve the Lord. I truly thank you for that!!

I have the fondest memories from the mid/late 1990's when we would jam in your living room in the summer nights, until the early hours of the morning. It was quite a lineup!. Tim Melville on rhythym guitar and lead vocals, Chet Harris laying down the bass line, Larry Brocket on lead guitar, Lynette playing a variety of percussion, and myself developing some basic drumming skills. What a crew!!!

Love and sympathy to Lynnette, Matt, and Mark!

When Lafe was in junior high and high school, he and I spent many happy hours at Nutmeg Farm while Lynnette taught him how to work with his dog. We both remember all of you with gratitude and joy.

We are grieving for the loss of Tim; he was a wonderful man! We hope you are finding comfort and solace in your friends and in your faith.

Love,
Helena

I had the privilege of sitting next to Tim for almost 10 years at P&W. One can only imagine the irreparable damage we inflicted upon one another in this all-too-short time together.

It was an honor to work with - and learn from - a man of Tim's wit, wisdom, and character. His absence leaves a huge hole in our group at work. I only hope I can keep the M&M machines filled, and have enough rubber bands on hand...

We miss you, Timmy.
